Heiko Koster serves as an East Africa representative for the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council, a non-profit organization that promotes the use of U.S. barley, corn, sorghum and related products worldwide. In this capacity, he supports ongoing programs in East Africa organized by the Council’s regional office in Tunis, Tunisia.

Koster is the owner of a consulting company that advises on operational management, raw material procurement as well as feed mill management. Koster is also a co-owner of a poultry layer operation, a partner in a protein by- pass plant in Capetown and a partner in a technical feed formulations company and animal feed company.

Koster attended the University of Pretoria in South Africa, where he earned bachelor’s degrees in animal science as well as livestock science and animal nutrition in addition to a master’s degree in animal husbandry.
