Former U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) Chairman J. Howard Mueller passed way at the age of 93 in his hometown of Waverly, IA last week.
Mueller led the organization, then known as the U.S. Feed Grains Council, in 1985 and chaired the Iowa Corn Promotion Board and the National Farm Credit Advisory Committee during his incredible life in the agricultural sector.
“Howard led a tremendous life focused on his family, his work and serving those around him through his work with agricultural associations like the Council, at his church and volunteering at local nonprofits,” said Ryan LeGrand, USGBC president and CEO.
“Everyone at the Council sends their best wishes to Howard’s family during this time as we strive to continue his work long into the future.”
An alumnus of Iowa State University, Mueller is survived by his wife, Fran, his sons Mark and Steven and four grandchildren. Mark and Steven continue to be involved in the family farming operation in Bremer County.
Please join the Council in thanking J. Howard Mueller for the legacy he left and the people and industry he gave so much to.
