Council Leads Team To Central American and Caribbean Poultry Congress

Last week, U.S Grains & BioProducts Council (USGBC) Marketing Specialist Diana Correa and Regional Programs and Special Projects Manager Sierra Richey escorted a team of medium sized poultry producers, specializing in layers, to the 25th Central American and Caribbean Poultry Congress to learn about trends and new technologies to overcome the latest challenges in the industry.

“As demand for poultry ramps up in Latin America (LTA) and around the world, medium sized producers play a crucial role in the continued growth of the industry. Their participation in these events ensures access to technical information regarding nutrition, sanitary practices and farm management, ultimately supporting industry growth,” Richey said.

The conference was divided into four breakout rooms and an international trade floor with more than 30 companies represented. The breakout rooms tackled industry trends, nutrition, health and overall farm management, while the trade floor included everything from genetics and feed to recent innovations in equipment.

“Our participants, who represented seven countries from the LTA region, were extremely grateful for the opportunity to access this event and conduct business. Continued partnership between these participants and the USGBC creates opportunities not only for the Council to support the U.S. grain industry, but also to foster long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders in the region,” Correa said.
