As part of the U.S. Grains & BioProducts Council’s (USGBC’s) continuing education and promotion of U.S. barley and malt, USGBC Senior Marketing Specialist Javier Chávez and USGBC Consultant Alfredo Avíla recently attended Cerveza Mexico 2025, a strategic platform for U.S. barley and malt in a major market.
Cerveza Mexico 2025 welcomed more than 150 breweries that showcased products and hosted a pavilion for suppliers and other supply chain stakeholders to share recent advancements and applications of malt and barley.
“An important part of our participation here was to meet potential participants for future visits to U.S. barley-growing states that often directly result in sales,” Chávez said.
“Particularly, we’re interested in touting barley’s sustainable cultivation practices that give U.S. growers an advantage against international competition.”
The Council was present at several seminars about topics including innovations in the brewing industry, efficient brewery management and how malt varieties can create different flavors.
Avíla also offered an hour-long presentation to attendees about the impact of properly sourcing barley and malt to ensure the highest quality beer, helping drive buyer and end-user interest in U.S. malt and barley.
