Pictured here, Bill Nelson (left) and Nolan Chandler (right) of the National Grain Sorghum Producers Association, now the National Sorghum Producers, offer a hands-on learning opportunity for a Dutch feed team in 1963. The sorghum industry was integral to the founding of the U.S. Grains Council (USGC), in fact acting as a party in the feed grain sector's first contract with the U.S. Department of Agriculture for global promotion work. While sorghum month may be coming to a close, the Council continues to work to educate end-users about the advantages of sorghum around the world.
