As the U.S. Grains Council (USGC) looks to create new opportunities for U.S. grain and co-products, it is actively working to expand its engagement across East Africa. Katy Wyatt, center, USGC manager of global strategies; Mary Ngalaba, far right, USGC’s Tanzania representative; Bonny Ishengoma, kneeling, USGC’s Tanzania consultant; and Heiko Koster, second from left in back row, USGC’s South Africa consultant, visited Tanzania this week to provide a poultry management training, while also discussing the opportunity to grow its programming in the country to include the dairy and cattle industries. The group took part in field visits in Mpwa Mpwa, meeting with those who work and conduct research in the industry firsthand and learning more about operations there.
